ABSTRACT
Fixed-concentration masks are designed to deliver a set inspired concen tration of oxygen over a range of oxygen fl ow rates, irrespective of the patient’s pattern of breathing. They are commonly referred to as ‘Venturi masks.’ The masks are usually labelled to indicate what concentration of oxygen they will deliver, as well as being colour coded.9 Table 4.5 summarises the characteristics of these devices.
