ABSTRACT
The post-ovulatory rise in core body temperature is mediated by the rise in progesterone secretion. It occurs in the early luteal phase following ovulation. The rise in temperature ranges between 0.5°C and 1.0°C. It is not entirely reliable because ovulation can occasionally take place without a demonstrable temperature rise.
