ABSTRACT

Given the treatment being offered, and the range of needs that Mark has, Helen now begins the process of exploring what else will be most helpful to Mark. She also confirms herself as his care co-ordinator. Mark has used again but did not take the methadone. He has explained what happened and still wants to go to his cousin's, which he does, and it is a positive experience for him. The clinic maintains its prescribing regime in spite of Mark struggling to stay with his script. Mark explores his options with Helen through the use of a dividing life line so he can see what positives and negatives there are for change and for not changing. His sensed desire to get away is increasing. Helen mentioned the idea of a kind of mood or anger diary that Dr Ashton had sort of mentioned.
