ABSTRACT

Innocent callers typically followed the dispatchers’ directions to Provide Aid to Victims, especially if the callers and victims had a close relationship. These callers were eager to help their loved ones, and they cooperated with dispatchers when directed to check for breathing and pulse. They willingly placed direct pressure on open wounds, removed objects from the victims’ mouths, and initiated CPR. The primary goal for innocent callers was to get medical aid to the victims as quickly as possible and to provide basic aid until the professionals arrived.
