ABSTRACT
This chapter explores lesson study as a form of practitioner research and its processes as well as the challenges and implications for promoting professional job-embedded learning. Lesson study is a form of job-embedded learning that is teacher-oriented and teacher-directed. Through the lesson study process members engage in examining their instructional practices by conducting research, observing classrooms to examine practices, further planning lessons based on feedback, and repeating this process based on lessons learned.
