ABSTRACT

Big Data analytics has become the engine for business analytics today. Companies are using Big Data to analyze their business processes, formulate future business strategies and, extensively, employ it for decision making. Companies such as Amazon and Netflix use Big Data analytics to understand behavioral patterns and choices of customers, in order to tune their offerings for the individual. Credit card companies use Big Data analytics to estimate the risk of losing a customer; they analyze a customer’s spending and paying patterns and use such insights to change potential offerings in hopes of retaining that customer.
