THE third of the four forgotten great Irishwomen contrasts equally with the Queen, and the Saint already described. Margaret O'Carroll, of Offally, was no cloistered votary, like St. Brigit, yet she was scarcely less pious. She was no splendid sinner, like Queen Gormflaith, yet her influence must have been even greater, while more beneficent.
