ABSTRACT
A podiatrist serving as forensic expert is a recent development, with Dr. Norman Gunn being the first to partner with law enforcement in the analysis of footprint evidence and to provide court testimony in the 1970s. Since that time, podiatrists have played a significant role in interpreting footrelated evidence in criminal proceedings (DiMaggio 2005; Vernon 2006).
