ABSTRACT

The truth is, I suspect, that Mrs. Hogg's exposuxe of the evils of this occupation, and the Home. Secretary's 'inclusion of fur-pulling among the unheaIthy employments subject to .special rules, have together produced such an effect upon the ininds of employers that the latter are abandoning tbe giving out Gf work, and are getting the pulling done in the factories. Foreign competition, it is also alleged, is bringing about the decline of fur-pulling generally, whether in factoriesor elsewhere. But I do not know wh ether this statement can be autbenticated.-Queen, Aug. 5.
