ABSTRACT
Reports from the Du~liI?- Women's Suffrageand Local Government AssoClatIon are encouraging aB to the probability of a very increased number of women throughout Ireland offering themselves as candidates at the March elections, as Rural District Councillors and Poor Law Guardians. The January elections are on1y for the Urban districts, and as a seat upon the Board does not constitute the member a Poor Law Guardian, very few women,so far as can be ascertailled, a.re preparing to stand tbis year. Mrs. Dockrell, however, a very capable and energetic lady, is canvassing the E1ectors of the Blackrock township, and much interest is feIt in the result; but that will not be known till too late for our present issue, and as we go to press we hear that Miss Rowan has been nominated in Tralee.
