Mrs. Gamble has set herself earnestly to the work of collecting and collating the writings of men of science in regard to the primitive conditions' mentioned. In her view women constitute the highest type humanity has yet evolved. The materials a.re not well marshalled, and the argument is not set forth with clearness, but the book brings together a large amount of not readily accessible material, useful for the student of social development.
