ABSTRACT

Chapter 3 is crucial to this book. As an interdisciplinary study, it is important to perform a thorough confrontation between the domains involved, before proceeding to the empirical execution of research. Technology acceptance research and Cultural Studies are very different. Their underlying beliefs on reality and research inspire completely diverging practices and theories, but a reconciliation is not impossible. This chapter begins with revisiting existing points of critique on either domain, and then highlights previously unidentified tension points. This opens the way to a new of doing technology acceptance research.
