ABSTRACT
When two levels of an independent variable are being compared, this chapter has shown how to choose which is the appropriate statistical test. This includes situations where homogeneity of variance is not present but the other requirements of a between-subjects t-test are fulfilled, when Welch’s t-test can be used. In addition, z-tests are shown for comparing two proportions.
