ABSTRACT

Relationships between variables can be explored by regression analysis. Simple regression is used when only one IV is involved and multiple regression when more than one IV is included. Such analysis performs two functions. One function is to identify how much of the variance in the DV can be explained by variation in the IV(s). A second function is to build a model of how the DV is related to the IV(s) and so allow the DV to be predicted for specific values of the IV(s).
