The determination of the value of the fugacity of a compound as a function of temperature, pressure, and mixture composition is crucial for the study of physical equilibrium, as indicated by Equation 12.10. Similarly, the values of activity required by Equation 12.14a for the study of chemical equilibrium can be obtained directly from Equation 12.13 once the values of fugacities are known.
