This chapter focuses on real-world problems that could involve multimedia mining. It proposes a literature review of approaches dealing with multimedia documents, taking into account various features extracted from multimedia content. The difference between static and dynamic media is explained. The multimodal nature of multimedia data creates an essential need for information fusion for its segmentation analysis, indexing, and even retrieval. Therefore, we present some approaches based on data fusion, audio, and video processing.
