When delving into quantitative methods, keep the mantra of reasonabledefensible-for-purpose in mind as well as remembering there are many such ways to estimate uncertainty for complex procedures. The literature is a good place to start, but all of the skills and concepts needed to create an
uncertainty budget for quantitative assays can be found here, in the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM), or in references that have been cited and will be published in the years ahead.
