ABSTRACT

Sometimes called the company’s bible, the manual will contain terms and conditions for trading with their suppliers. It is essential that before doing business with your company, the supplier is fully aware of your standards and method of working, and often the manual will include an acceptance form to be signed by a director of the manufacturing company. Manufacturers often work with many customers in different countries, and it would be ideal for them if they all accepted the same quality standards and procedures. However, all companies are different, with diverse customer requirements and warehouses that operate differently. When talking to suppliers, you should always reinforce what you have requested in the manual and explain why the standards and procedures are so important for your company to be successful, which could result in

more business being placed with their factory. These are usually the areas covered in the manual, and you can appreciate that it is an important tool for quality assurance and a source of reference for everyone in your company as well as for suppliers. Usually, the quality controller will have the responsibility for compiling the content, but all departments should have the opportunity to contribute.
