ABSTRACT

On April 14th, the Commission~rs who met in Dublin resumed· their sitting with special reference to the education of women.

Lord Justice FitzGibbon said they proposed now to take up the general question of the claims of female education upon the endowments over which the Commissioners had power. The inquiry had been adjourned on the consideration of the case of the Alexandra School and College, in order to give . an opportunity for the opening up of the whole subject of female education. The inquiry would be divided into three !leads. First, as to the eriating provisions for female education; second, as to its present needs; and third, as to proposals for the best application of whatever funds the Coiillllission might have at its disposal.
