ABSTRACT
We have heard that another woman is to be shortly decorated, but have not yet learned her name. It is somewhat curious that the same nation which has thus accorded women this exceptional distinction for military br11very or civil virtue, should not admit them even to civil, far less to political rights. If some women are :fit to be Chevali€~res of the Legion of Honour, all cannot surely be unfit for the status of French citizens.
