MADAME ASTRID STA::l1PE FF.DDERSON sends us tho following from Copenhagen.-The woman's . cause made considerable progress in Denmark last year. 'l'he Dansk-K vinde Samfund "Danish Association of Women" was founded in 1871. One of its E.1pecial objects was to educate women to fit them for new branches of industry, and for this purpose a commercial· school and a drawing-school were founded for women by the association. Having done this, the committee appeared to have finished its task, so a new committee was chosen in 1883, with the object of effecting a more Rctive movement on behalf of women's progress.
