ABSTRACT

School Board, October 23rd, it was decided, on the motion of Miss Taylor, to include the following suggestions in tbe letter to the Charity Commissioners, on the subject of the draft-scheme for Christ's HOE;ipital :- " That, considering that the clothing, feeding, and educating of young girls are at least as important as that of boys, and that the neglect of theiie leads to even more serious evils, at least as many girls as boys should be received into the Hospita~ and that no more boys should be admitted until the girls shall have reached the number of 1,000, and that the exhibitions to be awarded under the provisions of the scheme should be awarded equally between girls and boys." In the report of the Board it was also suggested that of the six nominated almoners to be appointed by the School Board for London, three should be women.
