ABSTRACT

Hamilton is second in the second class-that ie, eighth in order of merit-a very high place, indeed, in competition with all Ireland at the second University examination. I may add that in the official matriculation list of the University Miss Everett is second of the first-class in mathematics and second of the second class in experimental physics. Both these young ladies are now students of this College, and have taken high places ; but we are prohibited from giving them any rewards out of College funds. That they are eminently entitled to rewards no one can entertain a doubt. I trust that by the powerful advocacy of the local Press something may be done to encourage and promote university education for women.
