I think the Society might take 1up broader ground than it appears to do, by pointing out that it is not only women and children that would benefit by ladies joining, but the men also; e.g., the cooking of the food in many of the workhouses is not what it should be, and I feel quite sure that the food might by better methods be more tempting than it is, and this is in my opinion a very important matter ·seeing that our so-called workhouses are becoming every year more and more hospitals supported by the State.
