ABSTRACT

Strategy is the concrete plan by which an multinational enterprise (MNE) intends to compete successfully in its marketplaces. Originally a military concept, Clausewitz defined strategy as the plan for a campaign intended to achieve intended goals or objectives. The vision is important because it is the guiding philosophy and the performance expectations. The competitive environment is important because it is real - real competitors are doing their best to develop better products, services, and organizations to gain market share and profitability at each other's expense. The vision is the guiding philosophy of the organization. Industry analysis is the first step of analyzing the competitive environment on the way to formulating a strategy to operationalize corporate vision. The purpose of competitive analysis is to determine how a specific company of interest is doing against its direct competitors on the KSFs identified in the industry analysis.
