ABSTRACT

Manufacturing industries are experiencing a profound need to manufacture products using materials with extraordinary properties, stringent design requirements, complex geometries, miniature features, improved interchangeability of components, improved quality and control, reduced loss of power due to friction and increased longevity of the product by reducing the wear in sliding components. These requirements are taxing engineers to manufacture parts with micro-and nano-level surface finishes. In order to meet these obligations, advanced finishing processes such as abrasive flow machining (AFM), magnetic abrasive finishing (MAF), magnetorheological finishing (MRF), magnetic float polishing (MFP), magnetorheological
