ABSTRACT
This chapter covers more of the ethical issues that face managers and companies in various business functions. Ethical issues in human resources are tackled with an elaboration on the importance of fairness, diversity, and avoiding discrimination and sexual harassment. Issues of privacy and whistle-blowing are also addressed. Ethics of the accounting and finance functions are tackled, including the importance of objectivity, professional competence, confidentiality, and avoiding conflicts of interest. Throughout the chapter, we draw on examples from companies in the Middle East to illustrate how those ethical issues are tackled in the region.
