TOBACCO AND SNUFF }IANUFACTURE~-A man, on piecework, can earll in this trade from £2 to £4 per week; women.and girls, five, teo, or fifteen shillings, according to the experience they have gained and bring to bear on their work. A young girl, on first taking up this branch, as a future meaDS of livelihood, is paid by ber employers a small wage, and is placed under the guidance of an older and more experienced hand, who receives, as remuneration for her attention to her pupil and consequent loss of time on her owu work, any extra profit arising from that pupil's work over and above the small salary paid.
