There is "dass" morality, too, which entails class legislation. Society pronounces that to be an unpardonable offence in a woman which in a. man is easily condoned, and a. whole series of offences against the 1aw have arisen irom t.his assumed differenoe accompanied by penalties which men escape, but in which women are the sufferers. Divorce is granted to a man more easily than to a woman; simple unfaithfu1ness on one side will procure it; on the other, unfaithfu1ness only if coupled with cruelty •.
