ABSTRACT

In criticising this work we must observe that we somewhat object to the title as giving an erroneous idea of the book, and, in conjunction with its pretty gt'een and gold binding and ve1'Y elegant style of printing" making it appear an ordinary volume for the drawingroom table, while it is in reality a very serious work, containing many chapters on physiology and health, ,out of which a mother will nndoubtedly select much to read to her danghters, but which are not to be placed unreservedly in the hands of young people.
