ABSTRACT
Officers often respond to complaint calls with a backup. Having two officers present allows for greater safety for not only the officers but also those that they encounter. Faced with a combative or noncompliant subject, officers can work in a coordinated manner and contain and control the subject. The following technique can afford officers the ability to overcome the resistance; this not only reduces the risk of injury to themselves and to the suspect but also shows to an outside observer that the officers use the necessary force to handle the situation and look in complete control.
