ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book suggests the analysis of contemporary security studies as a series of complex interconnections, the so-called protocols of war, that shape and structure forms of international and transnational security. It identifies elements of the protocols of modern war that address specific issues in the areas of the contributors' research and expertise. The book establishes a logical link between the contemporary grammar of warfare and individual actors who frame, implement and develop this grammar. It addresses those aspects of contemporary warfare which exert a particular impact on the public. The book shows that the protocols of modern war involve different concepts and models of armed conflicts and warfare. It provides ample evidences of complexity and contradiction in contemporary wars and conflicts.
