ABSTRACT

The aim of the chapter is to discuss the significance of knowledge exchange in different regional contexts related to the need for targeted regional policy. Earlier research has illustrated that knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer differ according to different regional settings; knowledge exchange between entrepreneurial firms is a less researched topic. Also, previous studies in this field have been quantitative data oriented, and not specified by sector (Aslesen & Isaksen 2014; Isaksen & Trippl 2014; Tödtling & Trippl 2005). The practice of this chapter enhances a more indepth understanding of how knowledge exchange is taking place among entrepreneurial firms in the different regional contexts.
