ABSTRACT

Due to the introduction of new music business models, young musicians are in need of renewed and timely knowledge and competence. To succeed in the music markets, it is not enough to “only” be a talented musician. The modern business logic in popular music is more based on a “do-it-yourself” business logic. Becoming entrepreneurial is one strategy to adjust to the movements in the world-wide music economy, and to make a living out of music talent and performance. Many upcoming and young musicians do therefore attempt to enhance their entrepreneurial skills.
