ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the authors provide counselor educators have an opportunity to explore a variety of activities and review templates that will prepare counselor educators for the job search. They suggest using the templates and example questions as a starting point for putting together counselor educators' professional dossier. There are many types of faculty positions, and finding the one that fits best for counselor educators' personality, style of work, career goals, and personal life is important. However, no position will provide counselor educators with all counselor educators seek, and the possibility of starting with a position that offers opportunities for future advancement either there or at another university are things to consider. Every university, college, department, and program has its own criteria for promotion and tenure. Most universities have information in their faculty handbook about the steps toward promotion and tenure and broad expectations for success.
