ABSTRACT
My aim in writing this book has been simple: to present a Muslim view of development and to highlight some of the related issues now being debated in the Muslim world. There is no lack of work on development representing various normative positions including the conventional wisdom of both left and right. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first book which specifically sets out to present a Muslim point of view.
