ABSTRACT

The game he devised has all the properties that characterize a true visual search task. The target, NINA, is cleverly interwoven into the composition of a picture. In most cases, Hirschfeld camouflages his target by carefully embedding it in a scenic feature, so that the picture becomes background in the task of search for NINA. This is done by employing the same long flowing lines for the letters of the target, NINA, that are used to create the picture itself.
