ABSTRACT
During 2006, implementation of the 1970 UNESCO Convention continued with a new agreement to restrict imports of archaeological and ethnological materials between the United States and Colombia and with the first bilateral agreement between Switzerland and Italy. The most complex litigation concerning antiquities continued with the attempt to execute judgment against Iranian artifacts held by several U.S. institutions. No conclusion to this litigation was reached and this controversy is likely to continue for several more years.
