Yearbook: Do you still see these two concepts as framing contemporary discussions of ownership and protection of cultural property?

Merryman: Let’s begin with clarification of what I thought (and still think) I wrote. The two ways are not alternatives, they coexist. People may quite legitimately give them different weights, but no thinking person recognizes or respects only one of them.
