ABSTRACT
Each year the Yearbook will endeavor to seize upon cases involving cultural resources on the federal lands and offer some guidance to land managers and the attorneys who work in land managing agencies. The thoughts expressed in this section do not necessarily refl ect the decisions and opinions of the agencies involved. The attempt here is to best describe the circumstances so that this section may be instructive to those faced with similar issues in the future. Federal legislative actions and major policy events in federal agencies affecting cultural resources will also be discussed in this section.
