ABSTRACT
The year 2005 brought museum antiquities-acquisition policies to the forefront of international news with the fi rst foreign prosecution of a curator at a United States museum. Restitution of artworks stolen during the Holocaust remains a major issue for museums around the world. Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc on Louisiana and Mississippi, and many of the museums in those states suffered differing degrees of damage.
