ABSTRACT
The New Times , or Novoye Vremya , is a Russian magazine first published in 1943. During the Soviet era, it followed a strict communist doctrinal line. In the following 1959 interview, Du Bois outlines his ideas on the problems facing Africans regarding liberation, and the possibilities of communist models and examples in aiding the process of nation-building and unification.
