ABSTRACT

BlindArt is a charity, founded in the UK in 2004, to promote contemporary artwork that can be explored through all five senses, especially touch. It promotes the works of sighted and visually impaired artists side by side, challenging the public to distinguish the difference, and demonstrating that sight is not essential for artistic ability either in its creation or appreciation. Thus it aims to shift the established rules of art appreciation from the dominance of sight to the inclusion of touch.
