ABSTRACT

The archaeology surrounding the town of Brzes´c´ Kujawski in the Kujawy region of central Poland has been studied since the 1930s (Jaz˙dz˙ewski 1938; Grygiel 1986; Grygiel and Bogucki 1997). Archaeobotanical research started in the 1980s at Brzes´c´ Kujawski site 4 (Wasylikowa in Grygiel 1986) and was also undertaken at other archaeological sites during excavations conducted by P. Bogucki and R. Grygiel (Oslonki 1, Guz´lin 2, Konary 1, Konary 1a, Miechowice 4, Miechowice 4a, Smo´lsk 4, Wolica Nowa 1, Zagajewice 1: Bogucki and Grygiel 1983, Grygiel and Bogucki 1997). Archaeobotanical material from these sites has been studied by K. Wasylikowa, Z. Tomczyn´ska and A. Bieniek (Nalepka et al. 1998; Bieniek 1999, 2002, 2003a, b).
