ABSTRACT

The Group Informal Feedback on Teaching (GIFT) technique ask students to write brief answers to the following: “What are the 1 or 2 specific things your instructor does that help you learn in this course?” “What are the 1 or 2 specific things your instructor does that hinder or interfere with your learning?” and “Please give your instructor 1 or 2 specific, practical suggestions on ways to improve your learning in the course” (Angelo 1995b). This one focuses on what you are doing, rather than the content. It can be instructive, especially if written in the third or fourth week of the course.
