ABSTRACT
When students register for a course, it sets up a contract between the university and the student. The student pays tuition, and the university provides the educational service. As an officer of the university, you (among others) are the one responsible for providing that service to those students with a valid contract. You are also responsible for withholding services from students without a valid contract. The faculty handbook will lay out exactly what the contract requires of you. Your responsibilities can include, but are not limited to,
Ș providing a syllabus that outlines the conditions for the student to successfully complete the class, Ș being present at the scheduled class meetings, Ș responding to student assignments in a timely and effective manner, Ș giving feedback to students at regular intervals concerning their progress in the class, and Ș compiling a summary evaluation of their performance within the period of time stipulated by the university.
