ABSTRACT
Coordinate systems can be used to find, identify, and plot positions, areas, and alignments in horizontal space. Two coordinate systems are in common use on archaeological surveys: latitude and longitude, and Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM)/Universal Polar Stereographic (UPS).
