ABSTRACT
At this point, I want to turn to some broader issues of anthropological research—especially how the collection of numeric data can be integrated into ethnographic research. Mixed-methods research has become a kind of default mode for people with a scientific orientation in anthropology, which is good, but there are nagging questions of both logic and practice in actually doing mixed-methods research. In this chapter, I address some of these issues.
