ABSTRACT
Ed wanted to see the DMZ - the demilitarized zone, created after the stalemate that ended the Korean War. I wasn’t thrilled about it - (I like old things better), but to please Ed I agreed to go. It turned out that Michiko, Liesl’s roommate, was interested in the trip, too, so we included her. We planned a day-long tour to Panmunjon, the truce village, as well as one of the tunnels cut through the mountains into the South by North Koreans, and a small Buddhist temple. At the last minute Liesl decided to come too.
