ABSTRACT

Between 2000 and 2005, several graduate students and I worked collaboratively with CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse), a domestic abuse shelter. We wanted to do research that would be helpful to the organization and to our community in general. At CASA's request, Elizabeth Curry (2005) studied staff members and Deb Walker (2005) studied volunteers. In 2002, Elizabeth and Deb designed and published a booklet of stories they wrote about CASA (Curry & Walker, 2002). These were given to CASA to distribute among clients, workers, donors, and other social service agencies.
